More than just a restaurant, Quai Liberté is also a veritable springboard for reintegration. By choosing the Quai Liberté, for a dinner at the Restaurant, a drink on the Guinguette or for organizing your event: you take part in this reconstruction trip.

a project supported by Wake Up Café

Created by Wake up Café in 2020, Quai Liberté employs and trains former inmates, wakers, in hospitality trades. They are very far from employment and here they integrate a training course that combines skills know-how and know-how, to acquire the basics of the world of work.
The Freedom Pier is also the meeting of two worlds that do not know each other.

2014

Create Wake up Café

For 7 years, Clotilde Gilbert, as prison chaplain, met men detained at Nanterre's arrest house. She notes that confinement and inaction desocialize, destructure and dehumanize the person. All these people will be released from prison one day and will have to return to social and professional life. In 2014, Clotilde Gilbert founded Wake up Café: an association to accompany people leaving prison towards sustainable reintegration, without recurrence.

2018

The construction of a unique place in Paris

In 2018, HAROPA launched a call for projects for a 25-year concession at the foot of the Statue of Liberty.

The team brings together the 3 pillars needed to create the project:
• a boat - the Thalassa,
• a ring - one of the few available in Paris,
• "guardian angel" investors who have believed in this project since the first day!

2020

Inauguration of Quai Liberté

That's it, the Freedom Pier is born! The boat officially opens its doors and is positioned as a high place of the social and solidarity economy, in the heart of Paris. A unique place that offers 3 activities: a restaurant, the privatization of event spaces and a guinguette!

2024

Clotilde Gilbert receives Environmental and Social Entrepreneur Award

A ChangeNOW: Clotilde Gilbert receives the Environmental and Social Entrepreneur Award 2024 from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). This award is a great recognition for this unique project of hiring and training people leaving prison.
